The "Lonely Mountain," a massive peak located in the northeast of Middle-earth. It became the greatest kingdom of the Dwarves after the fall of [[Moria]]. It was the site of the Quest of Erebor, where [[Bilbo Baggins]] and a company of Dwarves led by [[Thorin Oakenshield]] reclaimed the mountain from the dragon [[Smaug]]. The reclaiming of Erebor was a turning point in the north, leading to the restoration of the Kingdom under the Mountain and providing a crucial stronghold during the later wars against [[Sauron]].
