The "Hill of the Eye," located on the western bank of the Anduin above the Falls of Rauros. It is the site of an ancient Gondorian watch-tower containing the Seat of Seeing. Amon Hen is famous as the location where The Fellowship of the Ring was broken. It was here that Boromir attempted to take the Ring from Frodo Baggins, and where he later died defending Merry Brandybuck and Pippin Took from the Uruk-hai. From this hill, Frodo and Samwise Gamgee departed alone for Mordor.
