Council of Elrond

Held in the year 3018 of the Third Age at the house of Elrond, this meeting was called to decide the fate of The One Ring. It was attended by representatives of the Free Peoples, including Gandalf the Grey, Aragorn, Boromir, Legolas, and Gimli. Despite the ancient grievances between Elves, Dwarves, and Men, the council reached a unanimous decision: the Ring could not be hidden or used, but must be destroyed in the fires of Mount Doom. This event marked the formal creation of The Fellowship of the Ring and is considered one of the most pivotal moments in the war against Sauron.
